The Hortus Project is a collaboration work period between myself and co-artist Marjolein Witte. It started many months ago when we started visiting 'Hortussen' in the Netherlands. We will be occupying the 'Lokaal", a work and exhibition space in Utrecht, from 1 Nov 2019- 30 Nov 2019. By-passers and locals will be invited to visit us to see and influence our process for three weeks. During the last week we will exhibit our combined installation.

The Hortus played a very important part in the history of plant-based science, as the end destination where plant samples were received, maintained and cultivated. I am interested in how the role of the Hortus has changed and how it may change in future and what part it could play in preserving bio-diversity. These works are fore-runners in the process and might or might not be included in the end result.
